Inspire, Organize, and Execute!

Will this be your year for success?

Happy New Year to you I hope 2019 will be an awesome year for you and your family. By the time you re reading this most people have already given up on their New Year’s resolutions. They will go back to their daily lives doing the same thing they did last year and forget they even mentioned the word success or change. Then there is you! When you uttered those words at the party about what you wanted to do next year no one took you seriously, but you were serious and now is the time to show them how serious you were. What you’re really thinking is how will I pull this off? Let me help!

Over the years I have talked to hundreds of people about their careers and have found it doesn’t matter how old or young you are there is never a better time than the present to get started. I have seen teenagers that are already developing their craft and working towards a creative career and people in their forties and fifties starting new careers using skills they have learned through decades of work. How do you get that career started?

Inspire Yourself

The first thing you need to do to get started in your new career or business is to find that inspiration that will keep you going when things get tough. There will be tough times in your business and you need to keep working through those as they arise. Find a way to create your unique style as a creative entrepreneur and know that everyone is unique in some way and that includes you. Inspiration can come from others, your internal goals or a dream, but it is up to you to put it all together. Once you’ve set those goals and found that inspiration to get you started it’s time to organize yourself.

Organize Yourself

The foolish are the ones that run out without a plan and hope for success. You have to get yourself organized and have a plan for how you will operate, make money, and get customers. The plan doesn’t have to be fully proven but you should have an idea how your operation will develop over time. Are you able to accept payments, which social media platforms best suit your business and so on. Getting organized is incredibly important.

Execute Your Plan

Okay to this point you have inspired your new venture, organized what is needed, and now it is time to execute the plan. Don’t try to do it all at once, do a little at a time and be willing to adapt as required. You will find customers may ask for items or services you hadn’t thought of before or in a way that offers a new service. This is the best part of being a small creative entrepreneur that you have the flexibility to adapt to a changing market.

I wish you well in your new venture for 2019 no matter what it is you do. I can tell you from experience that if you decide to take that leap of faith on your creative pursuit and put in the effort that it takes to be successful you will wonder why you didn’t do it earlier. It’s true when they say it will feel like you will never work a day in your life. Is it time for you to execute your plan?
