Improve Your Creative Business Through Others

Are you trying to improve your business? If the answer is no then you be may in for a harsh reality in the future as businesses are either moving forward or going backwards. At a recent convention I talked with many artists and many of them were very successful and others not so successful. When I asked the non-successful ones what they listened to many said music or comedy type podcast shows. The successful artists were asked the same thing and they listened to a variety of podcasts from music, comedy, business, marketing, and more.

I have been a life long learner whether I planned on it or not and pride myself on learning from other people. In fact that is one of the reasons that I started my podcast for creative entrepreneurs. What you learn is as important as how you learn it. Do you learn by doing something, do you prefer a course, or do you need someone to show you step by step how things work? However you like to learn is how you should find that material that helps you whether through a podcast or a course.

You can do it!

I talked with some amazing artists this month from character designers to caricature artists. My artist friend Nolanium started his career as a theme park artist and now has a company that employs over a dozen artists. Character designer Stephen Silver chatted with me about his career and how he found his niche with some of the top studios in the world designing characters for television. He now teaches that craft through books and courses and urges people to learn the business side of being a creative person. I also offer a glimpse into the people I have learned from over the last year and why those lessons are important for all creative entrepreneurs.
