Smart Trucker Grimsby Speaks to Women in the Trucking Industry

On Tuesday September 17, 2017 the Smart Trucker Seminar featured a WTFC circle logoseminar focused on women in the industry. Keynote speaker Shelley Uvanile-Hesch CEO of the Women’s Trucking Federation of Canada and driver with over 27 years of experience gave a presentation on her career path in the industry and what women need to look for when looking to trucking as a viable career choice. The evening began with a panel discussion with Shelley Uvanile-Hesch, Janet Hewitt of Ontario Truck Driving School, and Vickie deVos of Fleet-tax Services talking about women in the industry and career paths available.

To round out the evening was a safety presentation by Manan Gupta of Road Today Media Group, dinner, raffles, and networking. The room was a mix of industry veterans, students, and industry professionals.
