Revisiting Youth Community Day

Here we are in 2024 and I again will be attending Youth Community Day in Oakville Ontario. This event is put on by the Dare to Be Youth Group helping young people succeed by meeting with like minded youth. Watch the video below to see what they had to say:

The day is really a number of events all in one. The event includes a trade show and entertainment for young people which happens in the lobby area at the beginning of the event. It then moves into a cultural event with messages about inclusivity and togetherness.

A third portion of the event turns into a business competition sponsored by Pythons Pit where students pitch their best business ideas to a panel of judges. The winners can win $1000 in prize money. Watch the video below to see the business pitch competition:

The fourth portion of the event is all about leadership with interviews and discussions with leaders such as athletes, musicians, and leadership coaches.

Then the fun finishes off the event with a concert and dance for the audience. I was amazed at how many young people enjoyed the event and stayed for the full duration of the half day event. I was really impressed attending my first event last year to film an episode of Inspiring Youth TV.
