Today we were filming at (HIEC) Halton Industry Education Council’s head office in Burlington Ontario to get some background video on what they do and why they do it. HIEC was instrumental in connecting many of us involved in the show and a big part of the inspiration for the content. Sarah Barber and the team of students on location were great at being on camera and offering highlights of what they do at the career centre. Make sure you watch out for snippets when this episode on careers goes live in the Fall. Thank you to HIEC for having us out.
After our visit to HIEC Producer James Spalding and I had to start figuring out the set design in the studio. The show films in the studio starting next week and it is important to think about backdrops, camera angles, and other elements for the set. Here is a video showing a quick few seconds as we try to figure out whether to use a table on the set or not.
Look for another update next week as we move into the studio. Have a great day.

This week we visited the studio of artist Karlene Bland to talk about her art, her business, and how she became inspired to start her career as a full time artist. Karlene’s story will be very inspiring to others so look for her episode once the show starts airing in September.
